Central Valley Job Fair 2013
This year's Central Valley Job Fair will take place on Wednesday, September 25 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Modesto Centre Plaza (1000 L Street, Modesto, CA 95354). The Central Valley Job Fair is designed to help make the job-seeking process easier and will be free and open to veterans, active military, students and the public. Put on in conjunction with the Stanislaus Economic Development & Workforce Alliance, the fair gives employers and job seekers the opportunity to connect in person. The Job Fair is perfect for those who want to refine their communication skills and network within the community.
The Modesto campus of Brandman University, part of the Chapman University System, will provide free employment workshops and a resume review clinic to help job-seekers prepare for the fair. Scheduled seminars will be held at the Brandman University Modesto Campus (5222 Pirrone Court, Salida, CA 95368) on Wednesday,September 18, 2013. Featured opportunities include:
- Resume Clinic: Learn strategies to create an effective resume that highlights personal skills and abilities. Participants are encouraged to bring current resumes to be reviewed for expert feedback.
- Interview Strategies: The first impression is one of the most important steps in landing a job. This workshop provides the tools needed to practice and refine personal interview skills. Learn ways to incorporate social media into the job search through interactive online networking tactics.
- Veterans/Active Duty Only Workshop: Those with military experience have specialized abilities that are valuable to employers. This workshop helps veterans and those serving in active duty learn to translate their skills into benefits for the workplace.
