Intern Spotlight – Gina Falaschi
This summer, U.S. Representative Jeff Denham (R-Turlock) welcomed Gina Falaschi onto his summer staff. The 21 year-old hails from Oakland, California, and today completed her three month internship in Denham’s Washington, D.C., office.
Gina was one of three summer interns in Rep. Denham’s Washington, D.C. office. In addition to her office responsibilities, one of her favorite internship duties was conducting tours of the U.S. Capitol for constituents. As part of the internship program, Gina was responsible for conducting research on the history and art of the Capitol Building and putting together her own tour. Many constituent families had the pleasure of being escorted by Ms. Falaschi throughout the Capitol during their summer trips.
“It’s always an honor to welcome such hardworking young men and women to my staff for the unique opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of the federal legislative process,” said Rep. Denham. “Miss Falaschi has made a lasting impression on our office with her hard work and dedication. No matter what the job was, my staff could always count on Gina to successfully get the job done.”
“Interning for Rep. Denham has given me the opportunity to learn more about the issues that directly affect the state of California and the nation as a whole,” Gina Falaschi said. “Each day, my experience helps me to better understand how the government really works. It has been a great honor to work for the only Republican freshman from California - one of the strong leaders who arrived in Washington on the wave of a historic election with a mission to get things done.”
Falaschi will begin her senior year at Georgetown University, where she has a major in History and a minor in Italian. Gina has already been accepted to the Georgetown University Law Center and plans to begin in the fall of 2013. When asked if she plans to pursue a career on Capitol Hill, Miss Falaschi replied, “Only time will tell.”
Gina is the daughter of Robert and Paula Falaschi.
