Congressman Denham Delivers Books to Ceres Elementary School Library

Jan 9, 2013
Press Release

WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Representative Jeff Denham (R-Turlock) today delivered an assortment of books to Sinclear Elementary School in Ceres, CA, to be donated to their school library.

“Donating these books is a simple way to help our local schools stock their shelves and replace older books during tough economic times,” said Denham. “If your school would like to request books from the surplus collection at the Library of Congress, please contact my Modesto Office at 209-579-5458 to find out more information.”

Over the last year, Rep. Denham’s office has been collecting surplus books from the Library of Congress to help stock and replace books in schools across the Central Valley. The guiding principle behind the Library of Congress Surplus Books Program is to help build underfunded library collections through donation of surplus books which are not needed for the Library's own uses.

Rep. Denham will also travel to Salida Middle School later today to deliver books to their school library.
