Congressman Denham Statement on 11th Anniversary of 9/11

Sep 11, 2012
Press Release

WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Representative Jeff Denham (R-Turlock) issued the following statement today in recognition of the 11th anniversary of the al Qaeda terrorist attacks against the United States on September 11, 2001:

“Today, on the 11th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks, we stand together as a nation to remember the innocent lives of those lost, pay tribute to those who rose up in service, and honor those who serve our country.

“As we honor the memories and pray for the families of the thousands who perished on 9/11, we also remember the unwavering sense of patriotism and compassion that brought our country together in response to the attacks.

“Let us also remember the bravery and heroism of our emergency first responders who answered the call that day in the face of an enormous threat and unknown fate. Their courage and sacrifice stands testament to all Americans of the selfless dedication to serve and protect their community, just as our Military troops have done.

“On this 11th anniversary of that fateful day, we stand together as Americans in the same extraordinary way to support and honor the sacrifice of those lost and pay tribute to our veterans, soldiers, and first responders who rose up in service and continue to serve and protect the freedoms that make America the greatest country in the world.

“Today, and every day, let’s remember those who have kept and continue to keep America and its citizens safe at home. Just as we thank our Military for their service, let us always remember to thank our first responders for the outstanding job they do for us every day.

“And most importantly, let us never forget the brave and innocent lives that were lost that tragic day 11 years ago, and ensure that we never have to suffer another uncalled for attack on our land again.

“Let us again join together as Americans the way we did in the days following the September 11th attacks to better our community and in doing so, we will have a safer, better, more united Nation.”
