Since 2011, the unemployment rate in our district has gone from over 17 percent to just under 7 percent thanks to pro-growth policies that reduce burdens on Valley small businesses, lower our taxes, and promote the free market. We must continue to focus on the viability of small businesses in the Central Valley through policies like these to decrease intrusive federal regulation that stymies innovation and limit government spending that distorts the marketplace.

Ultimately, as long as entrepreneurs remain skeptical about the future business and regulatory environments, job creation will remain low and unemployment high. The National Federation of Independent Business asked small business owners about the single most important problem they face. Together, taxes and government regulation were the most often cited impediments to business growth. As a small business owner myself, I wholeheartedly agree. I will continue to fight in Congress to reduce regulatory barriers to success, keep your taxes low and lay the groundwork for economic recovery.
