Congressman Jeff Denham Receives NAM Award for Support of Manufacturing
WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Representative Jeff Denham (R-Turlock) was today honored by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) as a recipient of NAM’s Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence for his record of support in the 112th Congress for pro-growth, pro-business legislation relating to the success of America’s manufacturing industry.
NAM selects recipients of the Legislative Excellence Award based on voting records of individual Members of Congress who support key manufacturing legislation on issues such as energy policy, taxes and regulations, among others, at least 70 percent of the time. John Gardener of Central Valley Hyundai presented Rep. Denham with the award in Modesto at an event hosted by NAM member Hyundai Motor America.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by the National Association of Manufacturers for my efforts to help invigorate private sector job growth and help bring back thousands of manufacturing jobs that have been lost over the past years,” said Denham. “Our country is home to the most productive workers in the world, and is the world’s top exporter of goods and services. Let’s get Washington off the backs of American manufacturers and focused where it counts. By making our businesses more competitive in the global economy, we will be able to put people back to work, right here at home.”
“Hyundai Motor America thanks Congressman Denham for ensuring that the manufacturing voice is heard in Washington,” said Hyundai Motor America Executive Vice President of Sales Dave Zuchowski. “It is leaders like Congressman Denham who know that manufacturers are drivers of economic growth, job creation and prosperity.”
“Manufacturers today compete in a global marketplace,” said NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons. “It is critical that Washington creates policies to keep us competitive and maintain our mantle of economic leadership. Congressman Denham understands this and has consistently supported the pro-manufacturing agenda through his votes in Congress.”
The National Association of Manufacturers represents manufacturers from all industrial sectors around the country and is the nation’s largest manufacturing association.
