Denham Invites VA Secretary McDonald to the Central Valley
WASHINGTON — U.S. Representative Jeff Denham (R-Turlock) recently invited newly-confirmed Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs Bob McDonald to the Central Valley.
“Restoring trust in the VA will require transparency from the Department,” said Rep. Denham. “I’ve invited Secretary McDonald to the 10th congressional district so that our veterans can see him and share their stories with him. In addition to my letter, my Veterans Advisory Committee and the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors have sent invitations. Secretary McDonald has committed to visiting VA locations across the country in the next month and I hope he will consider the Central Valley at the top of his list. It’s especially crucial that he see the urgent need to begin building the VA facility in French Camp.”
Rep. Denham met with Sec. McDonald on Thursday, August 7, 2014 in person when he attended the bill signing ceremony of the Veterans' Access to Care through Choice, Accountability, and Transparency Act of 2014 at Fort Belvoir, VA with President Obama.
