WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Jeff Denham (R-Calif.) today issued the following statement in response to President Trump’s remarks about modernizing the transfer of medical records to the Department of Veterans Affairs:
“The archaic record-keeping system at the VA causes delays in appointments, misdiagnoses and has been an impediment to our nation’s heroes’ access to care. As a veteran, I may finally be able to toss my decades-old medical records and know that my health data will be available wherever and whenever I need it. I applaud Secretary Shulkin for making a swift decision to update the VA’s record-keeping systems to facilitate faster care for the men and women who, in far too many cases, have sacrificed their own health to protect our freedom.”
