Congressman repeats call for immigration reform

Denham arranged with the Department of Health and Human Services, which contracts with organizations to house immigrant children who either came into the country alone or were separated from their parents, to tour a nondescript home operated by Southwest Key of Pleasant Hill on Monday.
“There were a couple of their employees out front with radios. They knew we were coming,” Denham, who represents most of Tracy, said in an interview Wednesday. “I had requested access, went and knocked on the door. It was obvious that there were people inside. They were radioing back and forth. I could hear them inside, but they wouldn’t even open the door or respond. So I called the phone number. They wouldn’t even answer the phone.”
